I know, I know friends. I left you with a BIG cliffhanger last week when I told you I was leaving career coaching.
So today I want to tell y’all the back story of how I came to this decision. We go deep into what my thoughts and heart and emotions were going through during this time.
But I don’t want to just sit and monologue it to ya.
For this special episode, I wanted to bring my friend (and office roommate), Elizabeth Evans to interview me all on this big life and career transition. Let’s dive in!
[3:10] Realizing I needed to run “to” something instead of “away” from something
[9:19] Your calling doesn’t equal your career
[13:07] Am I “retiring” because the business wasn’t successful?
[16:50] Was the decision hard to make?
[22:24] 3 steps to take when making a big life decision
[26:43] What’s next?
[29:13] My favorite part of the season I’m walking through right now
Action Steps to apply to YOUR journey:
Making a big decision in your life? Go through these 3 steps in your decision making process:
Quiet the noise
Quit looking at what everyone else is doing. Quit seeking advice from everybody. Quiet the noise around you.
Start to divide what your priorities are from lifestyle and from your strengths perspective
- Ask yourself: What do I want my lifestyle to look like?
- Journal through what you’re really good at.
Then you can start to see what your priorities are and decide what needs to happen to move the needle for not only your career, but your lifestyle as well.
Talk to a trusted advisor or mentor
You don’t want all.the.advice from all.the.people., but you do want to be able to talk to one trusted person in your life.
I’m rooting for you friends!
